What a class looks like
Each lesson runs live on our own coaching platform. The coach teaches on an interactive board, students solve positions in real time, and the class ends with practice games or guided analysis. Between classes, students get puzzles and homework that reinforce what they learned — so progress doesn't stop when the call ends.
- Instruction on one clear idea per lesson — a tactic, a plan, an endgame technique
- Live puzzles solved together on the board
- Practice games and guided game reviews
- Homework and assignments on the student dashboard
- Class recordings students can rewatch
A program for every level
Students are grouped by age, experience and skill level, so nobody is bored and nobody is left behind.
- Foundation (Beginner, best for ages 4–10): how the pieces move, first tactics and checkmates, opening principles and basic strategy. See our beginner chess lessons.
- Development (Intermediate, best for ages 10–14): positional play, building an opening repertoire, middlegame planning and tactical combinations.
- Mastery (Advanced, best for ages 14–18): deep opening preparation, endgame technique, professional game analysis and tournament preparation.
Why parents choose online chess lessons
Online classes remove the commute and open up coaches who aren't available locally. Children learn in a familiar environment, and the board, recordings and homework all live in one place. Chess itself builds focus, patience and decision-making — we've written about the benefits of chess for kids in more detail.
Who teaches the classes
Our coaches are active FIDE-rated tournament players who have competed in state and national championships, and bring that experience into every lesson. Together they've coached 1,000+ students across 5+ countries. Meet them on the homepage.
